St. Katharine Docks Celebrating Female Leadership in Honour of International Women’s Day

As we approach International Women’s Day, St. Katharine Docks celebrates its lineage of female leadership by announcing its charity partner, The Royal Foundation of St Katharine.

Steeped in a rich tapestry of female guardianship, London’s largest marina stands as a testament to the enduring strength and influence of women.

Since the reign of Queen Matilda in the 12th century to the enduring legacy of St Katharine herself, St. Katharine Docks has been a hub of maritime commerce and culture. Established by this trailblazing queen, the docks became a focal point for trade, industry, and innovation under female stewardship. Throughout the centuries, formidable women have played pivotal roles in developing and managing the vibrant waterside destination.

To mark its illustrious heritage, the estate is proud to announce that The Royal Foundation of St Katharine has been selected as the charity partner for 2025. The foundation, dedicated to supporting vulnerable local communities and championing social change, embodies the spirit of empowerment and inclusivity that has defined the history of St. Katharine Docks.

“This partnership not only highlights our ongoing commitment to social responsibility but also serves as a poignant reminder of the invaluable contributions made by women throughout history,” comments Lulu Cato-Olude, Estate Experience Manager for St. Katharine Docks. “By supporting The Royal Foundation of St Katharine, we uphold the legacy of female captaincy and pave the way for a more equitable and inclusive future.”
