As our team has grown in number before the busier summer season, we thought it is a good opportunity to get you to know us a little bit more. We are happy to introduce our marina team online and let you know about our experiences and main duties at St. Katharine Docks.
Paul Tetlow - General Manager
Paul has led the marina team since May 2016. Previously, he ran sailing rallies circumnavigating the world for 6 years and before that, he was an Infantry Officer in the British Army. Paul has always had a passion for sailing and boats which made him start flotilla holidays in the Mediterranean and then developed into ocean sailing. He gained the majority of his sailing qualifications, up to Yachtmaster Offshore, through the Army's adventure sail training centre in Gosport. Paul's interests also include travelling, hill walking and a bit of rowing. Day to day, Paul oversees all aspects of the marina operation and its development, planning and reporting. There is a lot of office work and meeting with contractors, but he still finds a reason to get out on the docks to see customers or help out with the locking.
Gemma Eaton - Receptionist
Gemma has 18 years of experience in customer service and reception management. She has been working for St. Katharine Docks Marina as a Receptionist for nearly four years and, although she comes from no yachting backgrounds, she has become very passionate about her role within the marina sector. She loves welcoming visitors and yacht clubs and has established a working rapport with all our berth holders.
Margaret Kelly - Office Supervisor
Margaret has been part of the marina team since August 2011. Her main duties include running the marina office as well as holding the accountancy role. This includes invoicing and credit control. She is also supporting the rest of the team with customer service and lock activities when required.
Anna Stagia - Sales & Marketing Executive
With a MSc in Marketing Management and 3 years of experience in e-commerce and customer service, Anna is effective in creative campaign design and proactive communications. She joined the marina team in 2019 and is passionate about learning and evolving. She is responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies on and off site to ensure customer acquisition, retention and growth. She is also in charge of content creation for our social media pages and newsletters.
Ron Aspinal - Senior Dock Master
Ron is probably the most well-known member of the team with many returning visitors sharing their memories of being greeted by him during past visits. He has been an integral part of the St. Katharine Docks team for 30 years and is being responsible for overseeing the safe operation and maintenance of the estate's locks and bridges. There is very little about the estate that Ron does not know about. When not working at St. Katharine's, Ron is a keen aircraft pilot and supporter of Manchester United.
Mark Cullingford - Dock Master
Mark has been a Dock Master at St. Katharine Docks Marina for 2 years and has a mixed background, working in both the marine and the precision engineering industry. He has been sailing both professionally and for fun since the age of 6, and enjoys anything related to the water. Mark grew up on the South coast and has been surrounded by the marine industry and boats his entire life and so feels at home anywhere there is water and boats.
Tom Hassan - Dock Master
Tom has 5 years of working experience in the maritime sector, ranging from working for the Port of London as Marine Trainee, to volunteering with the RNLI on the River Thames. He brings a wealth of knowledge with his River Thames local knowledge along with a can-do attitude to anything he does.
Jamie Atkin - Dock Master
Jamie joined the marina team a year ago. He boasts the record of 23 years in boating and has never fallen in! He comes from a marine background having worked previously on the Thames and other Marinas on the south coast. Jamie lives on his Dutch barge on the Medway with his Border Collie and also owns a Westerly Centaur at Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne.
Alena Krason - Dock Master
Alena has been a dockmaster at St. Katharine Docks Marina since August 2008. Having lived in London for most of her life, Alena developed a love for the river Thames and wanted to work within her reach. She is responsible for the operational and administrative side of locking and delivering assistance to berth holders on the weekends. Alena is a full-time mum to two small children and in her spare time, when she has any, she loves to read, swim and clear her mind through yoga and gardening.
